How we write and review our guides
Who writes our guides
Guides are written by Credit Saint's editorial team with input from our credit specialists, who work disputes with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion every day. Each article shows its author, and author pages list everything they've written.
How we check facts
- Primary sources first. We cite the statute or regulator directly: the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Regulation F, the Credit Repair Organizations Act, the CFPB, the FTC and the credit bureaus' own dispute pages.
- Numbers carry their source and date. Complaint counts, timelines and dollar thresholds are linked to where they come from.
- Our own results carry their method. When we cite a Credit Saint result, we say which clients, which period and what counted.
What we will never publish
- Promises of a specific score increase or guaranteed deletions.
- Advice to dispute information you know is accurate.
- Claims that accurate, timely negative information can be removed.
- Anything suggesting a “new credit identity” or CPN.
Compliance review
Compliance review is led by Ashley Davison, Credit Saint's Chief Compliance Officer. Ashley is FICO certified, a Board Certified Credit Consultant, a Certified Credit Score Consultant, UDAAP certified, and holds an FCRA Compliance Certificate. Money guides are checked for accuracy under the FCRA, FDCPA and CROA, and articles she has reviewed show her name in the byline.
Keeping guides current
Credit rules change. Medical debt reporting, for example, changed in 2022, 2023 and again in 2025. We review our most-read guides at least twice a year and show the last updated date on every article.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us. We correct verified errors quickly and update the article's date.
Independence and comparisons
Credit Saint is a credit repair company, and our comparison pages are published by us. We keep them to facts each company publishes, link to the source, and date when we last checked.
